Crystal Shards Empty Crystal Shards

Always that i play FFERPG i get some crystals shards, and when I play solo i get about 12 crystals shards. What i want to know is if there is another function for it than get chocobos or chocobo defending and get some few items ?

They can be used for the Pram Nut, upgrades, cursing equipment and buying rare equipment. That's pretty much it.

High-end equipment are unlocked as you finish more and more quests throughout a playthrough. This high-end equipment costs quite a bit of crystal shards.
Also, you can upgrade your Spirit of Gaia with crystal shards after finishing a quest.

and note some of the best equipment cost 15 to 18 crystal shards! that will take lot of efforts lurking for it around
